Method
A device only goes online once it has passed every step. This is what happens between buying it and selling it.
We record the serial number and IMEI and check that the device is not reported stolen or lost. iCloud, Google and MDM locks must be removed.
All of the previous user’s data is wiped following a fixed procedure, before testing even starts.
We work through the full checklist for the device type. If an item fails, the device is repaired or the defect is stated plainly in the listing.
We read out the battery health and, where the device allows it, the charge cycle count. Both figures are on the label.
We inspect the screen and body at 30 cm and at arm’s length, and assign a grade using the criteria below.
Photos of the exact device, the test report and every defect we found go with the listing.
Per device type, item by item. This is the checklist that appears in every device’s report.
A grade is about appearance and battery; every device works fully. The criteria are measurable, so you know what you get.
Every grade: fully functional, tested on the full checklist, data wiped, all locks removed, liquid indicator not triggered, no cracks and no burn-in.
