These terms apply when you buy a device from Tweedy. We keep them as short and clear as we can. Your statutory rights as a consumer always come first: nothing in this text limits them.
1. Who we are
Tweedy is the trading name of Ibrahim Alouissa, sole trader.
- Address: Koningin Astridlaan 161, 2880 Bornem, Belgium. We ship from here. There is no shop and collection is not possible.
- Enterprise number: 0776.419.474
- VAT BE 0776.419.474
- Email: [email protected]
- Phone: +32 483 48 33 16
- Website: tweedy.be
2. Scope
These terms apply to every order placed on tweedy.be.
- We sell only to consumers: people who buy a device for private use, not for their trade, business or profession.
- We deliver only in Belgium.
- We ship every order. Collecting a device or visiting us in Bornem is not possible.
3. Our devices
Every device we sell is second-hand. We call it refurbished: we tested it on our full checklist, wiped the data and cleaned it. A refurbished device is not a new device.
Every device is unique. The product page shows:
- photos of the exact device you will receive;
- the device’s grade (see below);
- every defect we found, however small;
- the battery health we measured, as a percentage, and the number of charge cycles if the device shows it;
- the accessories included. Anything not in that list is not included.
The grade describes the cosmetic condition. Every grade: fully functional, tested on the full checklist, data wiped, all locks removed, liquid indicator not triggered, no cracks and no burn-in.
Like new
- Screen: No scratches visible at 30 cm.
- Body: No marks at arm’s length; at most 2 micro-marks, no dents.
- Battery: Phones at least 90%, laptops at least 85%, or a new battery.
- Parts: Genuine parts only; no “unknown part” in the history.
Very good
- Screen: Nothing visible with the screen on; hairline marks up to 1.5 mm with the screen off.
- Body: Light scratches visible at 30 cm, no deep dents, no cracked back glass.
- Battery: Phones at least 85%, laptops at least 80%.
- Parts: Non-genuine parts are disclosed.
Good
- Screen: Light scratches visible with the screen on; outside the active area, also scratches longer than 2 mm.
- Body: Visible scratches, small dents, worn edges; no cracks and nothing missing.
- Battery: At least 80%.
- Parts: Non-genuine parts are disclosed.
“Like new” is the name of our highest grade, with the criteria above. It does not mean that the device is new.
The grade, the listed defects, the battery health and the accessories describe the condition of your device. You accept that condition expressly and separately, just before you order. What is described and accepted in this way does not count as a defect afterwards (Article 1649ter §7 of the former Civil Code). A defect we did not list is covered by the legal guarantee.
4. Prices
- All prices are in euros and include VAT.
- You see the shipping cost in your cart and again in the overview just before you order. You never pay more than the total in that overview.
- If a device shows a struck-through price, that is the lowest price we asked for that device in the 30 days before the price reduction (Article VI.18 of the Code of Economic Law).
- We sell some devices under the special scheme for second-hand goods (margin scheme). The price then also includes VAT, but the invoice shows no separate VAT amount.
5. How to order
- You add a device to your cart. There you see the price and the shipping cost.
- At checkout, you enter your contact details and your delivery address in Belgium.
- You see an overview of your order: each device with its grade, the listed defects, the battery health and the accessories, the guarantee period of 12 months and the total including shipping.
- You confirm three things, each with its own box (see below).
- You click the button “Order with obligation to pay”. This places your order and commits you to pay.
- You pay through Mollie (see article 6).
Until you click the order button, you can check and correct everything. Go back to your cart or to an earlier step and change what is wrong.
The three confirmations are separate and never ticked in advance:
- you accept these terms and conditions and the information about your right of withdrawal;
- you know that the legal guarantee for your second-hand device is 12 months instead of 2 years, and you expressly agree to this (see article 9);
- you accept the condition of each device in your order: the grade, the listed defects, the battery health and the included accessories (see article 3).
Without these three confirmations you cannot order. We keep with your order the text you confirmed, with the date, time and IP address.
You can order in Dutch, French or English. After your payment you receive a confirmation by email, in the language of your order, with the details of your order, the information about your right of withdrawal and the model withdrawal form. In any case you receive this confirmation no later than on delivery.
6. Payment
- You pay online through Mollie B.V., a licensed payment institution.
- You choose one of the payment methods shown at checkout, such as Bancontact or a payment card. For a card payment you confirm the payment with your bank (3-D Secure).
- After you click the order button, we hold the devices for you for 30 minutes. If you do not pay within those 30 minutes, your order lapses automatically and the devices become available again. You then pay nothing.
- Your purchase is final as soon as your payment has succeeded. Your right of withdrawal (article 8) still applies.
- Sometimes we check an order before we ship it, for example by calling you. This prevents payments with stolen details. If we cannot confirm your order, we cancel it and refund the full amount.
- We send your invoice by email.
7. Delivery
- We deliver only in Belgium, to the address you give.
- We ship with bpost, with track and trace.
- We ship your order within 2 working days after your payment has succeeded. If we first need to check your order (article 6), this can take one working day longer; we will let you know.
- bpost usually delivers on the working day after shipping. In any case we deliver no later than 30 days after your order.
- If we do not deliver on time, you can give us a reasonable additional period. If we still do not deliver, you may terminate the purchase and we refund everything immediately (Article VI.43 of the Code of Economic Law).
- Until you, or someone you name who is not the carrier, have the parcel in hand, Tweedy bears the risk of loss or damage. From delivery, that risk is yours (Article VI.44 of the Code of Economic Law).
Damaged parcel?
- If the box is visibly damaged, have the courier note it, or refuse the parcel.
- Take photos of the box and the device and tell us as soon as possible, preferably within 2 working days. This lets us settle it with bpost.
- Your right of withdrawal and your legal guarantee always remain, even if you tell us later.
8. Right of withdrawal
You may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. The period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or someone you name who is not the carrier, take physical possession of the device. If the devices of one order are delivered separately, the day you receive the last device counts.
The statutory model text and the model form are on our page Right of withdrawal.
How to withdraw
Tell us before the period ends that you are withdrawing. You can do this:
- online, with the form on our page Right of withdrawal. The link “Withdraw from contract here” is at the bottom of every page of our website. You immediately receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email;
- by email to [email protected];
- by letter to Tweedy, Koningin Astridlaan 161, 2880 Bornem, Belgium.
You may use the model withdrawal form, but you do not have to. Any clear statement is enough. You are on time if you send your statement before the period ends.
Returning the device
- Send the device back within 14 days after you told us that you are withdrawing. You are on time if you send it before those 14 days are over.
- Send it to Tweedy, Koningin Astridlaan 161, 2880 Bornem, Belgium, and mention your order number.
- You pay the direct cost of returning it. As an indication: a parcel within Belgium costs from €7.10 with bpost (online, up to 2 kg, 2026 rate). A heavier parcel, such as a laptop, costs a little more. Choose a tracked shipment, so that you can show that you sent it.
- Prefer a return label from us? Ask for it by email. We then only deduct the price of that label from your refund.
- Send the device back complete, with all accessories you received, and well packed. Use the box you received it in if you can.
- First make a backup and remove your accounts and locks from the device (see “Locked devices”). We wipe every device that comes in. We cannot restore data that you leave on the device.
- We record the serial or IMEI number of every device with your order and on your invoice, and we film the opening of every returned parcel. If a different device comes back than the one we delivered, we have not received your device back and we do not refund. We then report it to the police.
Refund
- We refund everything you paid us, including the cost of standard delivery. If you chose a more expensive type of delivery than our cheapest standard delivery, we do not refund that extra part.
- We refund within 14 days after you told us that you are withdrawing.
- We may withhold the refund until we have the device back, or until you have shown that you sent it back, whichever is earlier.
- We refund with the same means of payment that you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise with us. This costs you nothing.
- We charge no administration, handling or restocking fees.
Diminished value
You may try the device as you would in a shop: unpack it, look at it, switch it on and test its functions, such as the screen, the cameras, the speakers, the buttons, the connections and the battery health in the settings. This costs you nothing.
If you handle the device beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, you are liable for the diminished value that results (Article VI.51 §2 of the Code of Economic Law). We then deduct it from your refund. We never charge a fixed amount: we assess each case separately, show the damage with photos and explain the calculation to you in writing. It is up to us to prove the diminished value.
Examples:
- a cable or another included accessory is missing: the price of a replacement;
- a screen protector we supplied has been removed or damaged: the price of a new one;
- there are new scratches, dents or cracks that do not appear on our photos of the device we shipped: the cost of the repair, or the difference in resale value if the device drops to a lower grade as a result;
- the device is still linked to your account (Activation Lock or Google lock): see below.
Locked devices
We cannot check, wipe or resell a device that is still linked to an account. So before you send it back:
- back up your data;
- turn off “Find My” and sign out of your Apple, Google, Samsung or other account, so that Activation Lock or the Google lock (FRP) is off as well;
- remove your passcode and your eSIM;
- reset the device to factory settings.
If the device still arrives locked, we email you on the same working day with the steps to remove the lock remotely, for example through icloud.com/find. You have 14 days for this. If it works, we refund as described above.
If the device is still locked after those 14 days, we send you a second message. We cannot sell a locked device, so the diminished value can reach the full price of the device. You then choose: we send the device back to you at our cost and you get no refund, as you have the device again, or we keep it and refund you minus that diminished value. If you do not reply within 14 days of our second message, we send the device back to you. We keep photos of the locked screen and of the IMEI or serial number as evidence.
Exceptions
The statutory exceptions to the right of withdrawal (Article VI.53 of the Code of Economic Law) do not apply to the devices we sell. You can withdraw even if you opened the box or switched the device on.
9. Legal guarantee
Every device is covered by the legal guarantee for consumer sales (Articles 1649bis to 1649octies of the former Civil Code). This guarantee is free and applies automatically. Tweedy offers no additional commercial guarantee. Our page Guarantee also shows the European harmonised notice on the legal guarantee (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960).
12 months for a second-hand device
The law gives a 2-year guarantee. For second-hand goods, the seller and the consumer may agree a shorter period, but not shorter than 1 year (Article 1649quater §1 of the former Civil Code). For every device at Tweedy we agree 12 months. We do this clearly and separately: on the product page, with a separate box just before you order, in your confirmation email and on your invoice. Without that box you cannot order. The 12 months run from delivery.
What the guarantee covers
- We are liable for any lack of conformity that existed at delivery and becomes apparent within 12 months of delivery. A device is not in conformity if it does not match the description on the product page, or does not work as you may reasonably expect of such a device, taking into account its age, its grade and its price.
- A defect that becomes apparent within those 12 months is presumed to have existed at delivery, unless that presumption is incompatible with the nature of the device or of the defect (Article 1649quater §4). It is then up to us to prove otherwise.
- What you accepted separately before ordering, such as the grade, the listed defects and the battery health, is not a defect (Article 1649ter §7). Damage that arises after delivery, for example from a drop or from liquid, and normal wear from use are not a lack of conformity either.
- The battery is covered by the guarantee. A battery loses capacity through use; that is normal wear. If the battery does not work as you may expect of a battery in the condition we stated, that is a defect.
Reporting a defect
- Report a defect within 2 months of discovering it (Article 1649quater §2).
- Email [email protected] with your order number, a short description and, if possible, a photo or video. Your confirmation email or your invoice serves as proof of purchase.
- We send you a free return label. First make a backup and turn off “Find My”, so that we can test and repair the device.
What we do
- First repair or replacement. You choose, unless your choice is impossible or would impose disproportionate costs on us. Every device is unique: replacement is only possible with an equivalent device that we have at that moment.
- The guarantee period is suspended during repair, replacement or negotiations towards an amicable solution. If you choose repair, the guarantee period is extended once by 1 year. Before starting, we explain your choice between repair and replacement and this extension. We provide a refurbished replacement device only at your explicit request.
- We do this within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you. It costs you nothing: no shipping costs, no inspection costs, no repair costs.
- You can ask for a price reduction or for termination of the purchase if repair or replacement is impossible or is not done within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience, if the same defect comes back, if the defect is so serious that an immediate price reduction or termination is justified, or if we state that we will not remedy the defect. On termination, you send the device back at our cost and we refund the price. You cannot terminate the purchase for a minor defect; it is up to us to prove that the defect is minor (Article 1649quinquies).
- You can go to court until 1 year after you discovered the defect, but that period never ends before the end of the 12-month guarantee period (Article 1649quater §3). The period is suspended while we repair, replace or look for a solution together.
10. Complaints and disputes
Do you have a complaint? Email [email protected], call +32 483 48 33 16 or write to Tweedy, Koningin Astridlaan 161, 2880 Bornem, Belgium. We answer as quickly as possible.
If we cannot resolve it together, you can turn free of charge to the Consumer Mediation Service (Consumentenombudsdienst), Koning Albert II-laan 8 bus 1, 1000 Brussels, phone +32 2 702 52 00, [email protected], www.consumentenombudsdienst.be. Tweedy is not affiliated with any other dispute resolution body. We take part in mediation by the Consumer Mediation Service.
Belgian law applies to your purchase and to these terms. The competent court is the one designated by the Belgian Judicial Code. These terms do not designate any other court.
11. Liability
Tweedy is liable as the law provides. These terms do not limit or exclude that liability.
12. Privacy and cookies
Our privacy policy explains how we use your personal data. The cookies we use are listed on our Cookies page.
Old devices and batteries
When you buy a device from us, we take back one similar old device free of charge for proper collection. Email [email protected] with your order number. We arrange a free return. Send the device only after we have agreed a safe shipping method. Remove your personal data and accounts first. For loose, damaged or swollen batteries, we agree a safe collection method; do not simply send them by post. This collection is separate from your withdrawal right and guarantee.
13. Language and versions
- These terms exist in Dutch, French and English. The Dutch text is the original. If the translations differ, the Dutch text prevails, unless another language version is more favourable to you.
- If a clause is unclear, the interpretation most favourable to you prevails (Article VI.37 §2 of the Code of Economic Law).
- Each version has a number and a date, shown at the top. Your order is governed by the version that applied when you ordered. You can save and print this text.
- Our invoices are in Dutch, because Tweedy is established in Flanders.
